We prefer first-party certificate authority pages, official seller catalogs, browser root-program announcements, CA/Browser Forum materials, incident reports, acquisition announcements, and current checkout pages. Secondary reporting may be used when it documents an event that is not fully preserved in a first-party source.

Material claims should identify the affected certificate authority, product, seller, trust chain, date, and current status. Historical incidents are not presented as proof that every certificate sold under a related modern brand is currently unsafe.

Recommendations consider product fit, validation level, domain coverage, current issuing path, provider support, refund terms, public review evidence, review volume, certificate-business relevance, operational tooling, and reference price.

The lowest price does not automatically rank first. RightSSL generally prefers a reasonably priced product from an established, service-oriented provider over an absolute low-price listing with weaker support or unclear controls. No provider can purchase a guaranteed recommendation or ranking position.

A negative recommendation must be tied to certificate operations or product suitability, such as browser or root-program action, repeated compliance failures, subscriber private-key handling, a retired issuing path, or a material limitation documented by the provider itself.

Acquisition alone is not treated as a security failure. Risk articles state the event date, affected scope, evidence cutoff, and whether the concern applies to a historical PKI, a current issuing chain, a reseller, or only a specific product use case.

Last checked means the date RightSSL captured or verified a public price source. It is not a promise that the seller will show the same amount at checkout. Promotions, billing terms, currencies, taxes, renewal prices, SAN charges, validation options, and regional pricing can change without notice.
